Discussion on the safety of oil filled in steel drums (II)

II. Master the requirements for the warehouse when storing oil filled in steel drums

in order to ensure safety, the stacking state, warehouse size, and environmental requirements of steel drums after filling oil should be standardized. Let's discuss separately below:

(I) requirements for warehouse building for safe storage of steel barrels filled with oil products

1. The warehouse for storage of steel barrels filled with oil products should be ground building, and underground or semi underground type should not be used, so as to prevent oil and gas from diffusing easily and increase fire risk factors

2. The warehouse for storing steel drums after filling oil products should be made of refractory materials, and the ground inside the warehouse should be the ground that does not leak oil products and will not impact and emit sparks, and should have a 1% slope to the oil collecting ditch or oil collecting well outside the warehouse

3. After storing the filled oil, the warehouse of steel drums should open more windows and strengthen natural ventilation, which is conducive to the elimination of flammable vapor and explosion-proof pressure relief. The warehouse should have good natural ventilation, and the ventilation hole should have protective devices to prevent the entry of flying fire. When mechanical ventilation is adopted, the fan casing and impeller shall be made of non-ferrous metal materials that do not produce sparks

4. The warehouse area of steel drums after storing filled oil products is more than 100 m2, which is used to store steel drums containing light oil products such as gasoline; With an area of more than 200 m2, it is used to store steel drums containing lubricating oil

5. There should be at least two doors in the warehouse of steel drums after storing filled oil products, and the width of the door should not be less than 2.0~2.1 meters. And the distance from any position on the access road in the warehouse to the nearest gate should not be more than 30 meters (light oil warehouse) or 50 meters (lubricating oil warehouse). Set a 0.15 meter high threshold (or slope height) at the door. The clear height of the warehouse shall not be less than 3.5m

6. After storing the filled oil, the steel drum warehouse must adopt outdoor wiring and be installed in the wall niche. Here we first answer the friend's question about the reflector lighting, while the steel drum warehouse storing flammable liquids such as gasoline should adopt explosion-proof lighting devices

(II) requirements for the area and spacing of the warehouse for safe storage of oil filled in steel drums

according to the national fire protection and safety production requirements:

1. The warehouse used to store steel drums of oil with a flash point of less than 28 ℃ such as filled gasoline has the safest and most stable area, which is not more than 750 M2 than the first transmission system. At the same time, it should be separated into single rooms of no more than 250 M2 by firewalls

2. The area of each warehouse used to store steel barrels of oil products with a flash point of 28~60 ℃ such as filled kerosene is: when the secondary fire resistance rating is adopted, it should not be greater than 1000 m2; When three-level fire resistance rating is adopted, it shall not be greater than 500 m2, and shall be separated into single rooms not exceeding 250 M2 by firewalls

3. The warehouse is used to store steel barrels of oil products with a flash point of 60~120 ℃ such as filling diesel, and the area of each room is not more than 2100 m2. Separate rooms must be equipped with independent Daxin Hengxu doors. See Table 2 for the fire resistance rating, number of layers and area of the steel drum warehouse for storing and filling oil products

Table 2: fire resistance rating, number of floors and area of barrel warehouse

see Table 3 for the fire separation between the warehouse storing oil steel drums with a flash point below 28 ℃ and other buildings

Table 3: the fire prevention distance (m) between the steel drum warehouse for filling oil with a flash point less than 28 ℃ and other buildings

the distance between the warehouse for storing and filling flammable and combustible liquids with a flash point greater than 28 ℃ is determined according to the distance between general industrial plants
